The client is a leading solar energy systems manufacturer. People around the world are enjoying a better lifestyle because of the client’s solar electric systems. Their United States solar division is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, with regional sales affiliates in the Americas and Australia.
Most of the client’s business processes were automated, which had been done manually before. As a result the follow up was a tedious procedure on processes such as sales and purchases.
Solution
The client sought out RJT Compuquest to implement SAP 4.6 for their solar division. The end-to-end solution was implemented for Finance, Production, Sales and Distribution, Material Management, and Inventory Management.

The integration showed improvement in the areas of purchase, sales, inventory, and accounts receivable, which has removed the unproductive meetings between various departments. Turnaround time was reduced for every business process such as credit management and billing. The bottlenecks of the processes of manual allocations have been eliminated and the business is carried out more cost effectively. Important business data flow has become much easier to track.
The operational profitability can be measured for their complex business scenarios. Better management controls are now possible with the various tools like reporting in SAP for the purchase price, sales price, margins and receivables. SAP helped to avoid lot of duplication of tasks and the time of the resources are being spent more productively.
